Wishtrend is a company that has become significantly more popular over the past 2 years or so. At it’s core, it is a skincare curator- compiling products from a small number of brands that it thinks will suit its consumer base. These products tend to be hypoallergenic, organically produced  or with thought given to sustainability. In addition to their product curation, the company has also launched many of its own brands, namely Klairs, By Wishtrend and Jungle Botanics. Although price points on Wishtrend tend to be on the steep side, one must take into consideration the generally extremely high quality of the ingredients they use. I’ve always had very good experiences with the company, especially with regards to my sensitive skin, their products usually work really beautifully for me, and I can trust the products they suggest!

Product Summary

This Vitamin 75 Maximizing Cream is from the company’s namesake brand ‘By Wishtrend’, and is essentially a boosting cream. Much like certain essences boost the absorption or hydrating properties of the products they’re paired with, this cream increases the efficiency of certain ingredients, most significantly vitamin C. Yesstyle very kindly gifted me this product about a month ago, and I was extremely excited to begin using it because it had received rave reviews from a number of friends within the skincare community.

Moving straight into the ingredients, the superstar of this product is the 75% Vitamin Tree Water, which is used in place of water. Vitamin Tree Water is also known as SeaBuckthorn and helps brighten and clarify the skin. Furthermore, this is a brilliant ingredient for all those who experience skin irritation or inflammation, due to its exceptional healing properties. Another large portion of this formulation is made up of Vitamin E which provides a soothing effect and also helps with hydration. Rounding out the list, it’s interesting to note that this product doesn’t contain either alcohol nor fragrance, which is always a plus for me, due to my skin occasionally reacting to them in a negative manner.

I was initially very pleasantly surprised by the texture, I was expecting rather a thick cream, however I was met with an extremely light, gel texture that didn’t feel heavy whatsoever. I first began using it in the morning, alongside my vitamin C serum, and it was a lovely day moisturiser. I believe this is largely due to the aforementioned lightweight texture, but also it absorbed really beautiful and allowed my skin to breathe, despite the high temperatures we’re currently experiencing! The results were almost immediate, which is something I rarely say! I noticed a definitive reduction in the hyperpigmentation I suffer with, particularly around the jaw area. Furthermore, my skin just looked a lot more even-toned and brighter. The difference was so marked that my brother, who almost never comments on anyone’s appearance, noticed the difference in my skin! I then began using it at night, and found it functioned as a really lovely sleeping mask. I tend to shy away from using creams that are too heavy at night, because my skin doesn’t react at all well to being overloaded and can easily become claustrophobic. This was the perfect balance between being effective and light.

INGREDIENTS

Hippophae Rhamnoides Water, Butylene Glycol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Betaine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Elaeis Guineensis(Palm) Kernel Oil, Panthenol, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Dimethicone, Beeswax, Elaeis Guineensis(Palm) Oil, Ethyl Hexanediol, Allantoin, Arginine, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Limonene, Citral

In terms of its suitability for sensitive skin, I would say this is a very good option, particularly if you concurrently suffer with scarring or hyperpigmentation. I experienced minimal irritation. However, I would suggest against using this every single day if you do have highly reactive or damaged skin; after 2 weeks of constant use, my skin did get a little red immediately upon application. This problem, however, was completely negated after I changed my routine to use every other day. Ultimately, it is a cream that contains actives, and you’ve always got to be a little cognisant of sensitive skin’s vulnerability!
